Our unique approach to healing
At KD Injury and Pain Clinic, I offer treatment beyond conventional physiotherapy. Discover the benefits of Visceral Manipulation, Myofascial release, and/or get personalised physiotherapy programs to address the root cause of your pain and help you achieve lasting relief and improved well-being.
Specialised treatments explained
I offer a unique blend of therapy techniques, focusing on individual needs to provide comprehensive and effective care. These treatments are designed to not only alleviate symptoms but also to address the underlying causes of your discomfort.
Visceral Manipulation
Visceral ManIpulation has come a long way from it’s origins.
Visceral Manipulation (VM) was developed by French Osteopath, Jean-Pierre Barral. He was named one of TIME Magazine's Top Six Innovators for Alternative Medicine to watch in the new millennium.
This delicate manual therapy is often cited as a missing link in the treatment of recurring musculoskeletal pain, postural distortions and biomechanical dysfunction. Gentle touch driven manipulation of the facial tissue around organs, nerves, ligaments and blood vessels aid in freeing restrictions and tensions that can lead our bodies to start moving in less efficient and sometimes painful ways. Our bodies are constantly wanting to be symmetrical and find the least effort full way to move. By releasing restrictions that may have arisen following trauma, surgery, repetitive movements habits and postures, can can allow the body to function optimally and realign itself.
Connective Fascial Techniques
Massage and connective tissue work helps to improve blood flow and circulation to promote healing, reduce swelling, and release restrictions around joints and the bodies musculature. Whether you are working on a calf injury from running, a tendonopathy, or getting stress and work related pain, you will likely benefit from soft tissue work to relieve the tensions around your body, supporting normal movement.
I also work in close relation to Joanna Jensen at St Mary’s House, who specialises in multiple forms of massage and hot stone treatments Tuesday - Saturday. If you wish to know more about her then follow this link
Targeted Physiotherapy
As well as utilising soft tissue techniques, I excel in tailoring proven physiotherapy methods of manipulation, conditioning and strengthening to rehabilitate Musculoskeletal injuries, promote quality of life in Neurological conditions, improve strength, and enhance overall physical performance where required.
I work with your lifestyle, adapting programs to suit your needs and aim to get to the root cause of the problem, looking at preventing recurrence, not just giving temporary relief.
When working with long term conditions and diseases it is important to understand what you most value. We would set realistic goals and treatment plans, and home visits can be arranged as required.
